BMPS is a non-cleavable, water insoluble,heterobifunctional protein crosslinker that is commonly used to crosslinkhaptens to carrier proteins and enzymes to antibody. The BMPS crosslinker'sspacer arm length of 5.9 angstroms is the shortest of the C3 homolog ofaliphatic spacer series (see also EMCS and GMBS). The BMPS crosslinkingreagent's NHS ester and maleimide reactive groups react with amino andsulfhydryl moites, respectively.
